2010-11 Longing for His Presence Retreats

We live very busy lives, running frantically through our personal calendars.  Who can be busier?  Perhaps what is needed is an enriched life that is not activity oriented.  Perhaps we need a way to learn to be a contemplative in a world of action.

 “When action and contemplation dwell together, filling our whole life because we are moved in all things by the spirit of God, then we are spiritually mature.” (Thomas Merton, No Man is an Island, pg 65)

Longing for His Presence Retreats is a three part retreat system designed for the local church minister to rekindle his passion for the Lord.  This retreat series was born from extensive conversations with pastors and other ministers who yearn for continuous closeness with the Father.

Outcomes of the Retreat Process

1) A deepening of the minister’s spiritual life, 2) an increase in spiritual friendships, and 3) an awareness of new spiritual resources.

Retreat One:

The first retreat is designed to focus on Sabbath, Gratitude, Prayer Walking, Silence and Solitude.  This retreat will be 70% content and 30% alone time.

Retreat Two:

The second retreat is designed to focus on Stability, Simplicity, Fasting and Discernment.  This retreat will be 40% content and 60% alone time.

Retreat Three:

The third retreat is designed to focus on the Contemplative Pastor, Where We Go from Here, and to be completely comfortable with the disciplines of Contemplative Prayer, Silence and Solitude.  This retreat will be 10% content and 90% alone time.

Retreat Schedule

Each retreat begins on Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. and concludes on Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.  Each participant is expected to be present the entire time to receive the maximum benefit of the retreat.

Retreat Cost
